Bruton High School
Kevin L. Brooks answered the Master’s call unexpectedly on Friday, September 11, 2015. His life began on September 7, 1969, the son of Julia Palmer Brooks and Charles Brooks, Sr. At the time of his death, he was employed as an Assistant Football Coach for Bruton High School. He also was a Certified Track & Field Official. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all of the students he came in contact with. He leaves a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him. The wonderful memories of Coach Brooks will be a comfort for his family; parents, Julia Palmer Brooks and Charles Brooks, Sr.; his sister, Angela Brooks; his brothers, Charles Brooks, Jr. and Joseph Brooks; his nieces, Roshaun, LaTrika, LaTonya and Casandra Brooks; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; his special friend, Leila Gayflor; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends.” – Read more
At the first annual Glory Days Turkey Bowl, a percentage of proceeds will be donated to the American Heart Association in memory of Coach Kevin Brooks. Glory Days 4 on 4 Flag Football Tournaments is dedicated to encouraging communities to lead healthier active lives. Founder David Macklin states, “We want people to lead a healthy lifestyle, people staying active through recreational activities while enjoying life. Being an athlete is more than simply showing up on Friday, Saturday and Sunday; being an athlete means maintaining a healthy routine throughout the week. We at Glory Days 4 on 4 encourage our participants to stay active and live.”
